Power Play Fitness Gets Results
Never underestimate the power of play.
The short tag line reads underneath the main logo on the home page of Power Play Fitness’s website, and it rings true with trainer Kurt Pitman. Pitman comes equipped with plenty advice for both losing weight and staying in shape.
“Stay moving,” he said. “Stretch, walk, yoga, etc. Get out and do some moving.”
Pittman, who runs training sessions out of the Dallas, Texas-based gym himself, said that his program includes a general and specific warm-up, which leads to load bearing exercise’s and balance and coordination work.
He said that after the main portion of the exercise is completed, a cool down period is essential.
“It should be practice, and is advised post-exercise,” he said.
Pitman encourages massage as both a means for improving recovery time, as well as for relieving tensions that are placed on the body during exercise programs. As for trainers themselves, Pitman advises that a personal trainer is important for all types of workouts, even those with an automated machine.
“For guidance, at the least,” he said of a trainer’s role during machine use. “Trainers can give guidance in safe program design so that the participant doesn’t overload themselves. [It’s] also helpful with mechanics.”
“Your time spent in the gym should be utilized efficiently and effectively,” reads the ‘Our Philosophy’ statement on www.powerplayfitness.com. “Working with our trainers and following guidelines will guarantee results. We will assist you in achieving your goals from weight loss to strength gaining. Our goal is to educate you for lifestyle changes; changes you will need for the rest of your life. Your time spent with our trainers could just be the difference your life has needed.”
A number of blog posts appear on the website as well to serve clients, with recent posts including “34 ways to stay motivated,” “healthy recipe,” and “11 tips to stay healthy and fit this summer.”
