Kenny S Smoke House A Feel Good Bbq Experience In Plano, Texas
Before 2013, The Shops of Legacy in Plano, Texans were deprived of delicious BBQ flavors. Since Kenny’s Smoke House came to town, this has changed for the better.
Plano’s residents enjoy the finer things in life, but they also want to kick back. “Guests are welcome to come get dressed up and fancy or come in their flip flops and shorts,” says Marketing Manager Shaena Tuohy. The atmosphere is comfortable for everyone, making Kenny’s the spot for a date night, business lunch, or casual afternoon.
Plano has been waiting for a place like this to come around for a long time, and so has Tuohy. “I have always had a passion for smoking and grilling and have been wanting to open a Smoke House for years,” says founder and owner Kenny Bowers.
The menu is saucy and sizzling, featuring pulled pork, brisket, beef and pork ribs, and smoked sausage sourced locally at Southside Market in Elgin, Texas. All this can be washed down at the full bar with house-smoked bourbon and Grey Goose on tap.
Strains of blues and jazz notes hit your ear on the way in, floating over the welcoming aroma of smoked meats emanating from virtually every table. Everything is smoked in hickory at a comfortable level, burnt to just the right temperature before hitting the plate.
Non-meat eaters feel welcome here as well as there is a healthy selection of seafood on the menu, from grilled salmon to New Orleans style barbecued shrimp. “The Smoke House Old Fashioned” and “Kentucky Mule” push traditional drinks beyond their former potential, complimenting the savory BBQ flavors, and doing them justice.
“Our staff does a great job of going above and beyond to make sure that everyone has a great time,” says Tuohy. “I think people enjoy good food and great drinks, but they keep coming back because they have a genuinely great time.” The mission at Kenny’s Smoke House is to do things “the way they used to,” taking the extra steps to suit the needs of every guest.
